SHOP UPDATE: Bill's roadster has color!!

Susi and I spent the day wet sanding the body Monday

Here it is sanded and in the booth waiting for the morning

A couple of action shots from the booth. This was a big day for this build.

The finished product. No runs, just a little dust. Should sand and buff pretty easy.
Mounted a few things to the firewall before paint.
Got a few more parts primed and ready to sand and paint

I finished all the plumbing on the frame last night. I broke down the chassis this morning and finished all the welding this afternoon. Jason will etch the frame with the sandblaster in the next few days and we will get it primed and painted.

SHOP UPDATE: Body work is finished on Bill's roadster

So, this is how much body work on a new Brookville 32 roadster. Anybody that thinks these are simple is out of their mind. This car had as much work to get straight as an original body for sure.

There is Susi blowing out the body. It looks like it is snowing.
All clean and ready to go to the booth

There she is, all primed and ready to wet sand and paint. Susi and I will be sanding tomorrow and hope to paint on Wednesday.

SHOP UPDATE: Bill's roadster

Susi and I removed the body from Bill's roadster so we can get the body work done and get it painted

A little action shot of me priming the body
Susi sprayed the guide coat so we can check the panels for flaws

Well, unfortunately we found plenty of highs and lows in this Brookville body. One would think it would be a bit straighter than that. Oh well, nothing major just a bunch of work

So, there is this giant gap between the two panels. We can't leave it this way so its time to start fabricating something.
Here is the finished panel with some corner fillers I built on to it. This will clean up the look when its all panted.

Did another run of small parts. Things are starting to pile up in the house again. Hope to be putting this thing back together soon.

SHOP UPDATE: Bill's roadster is getting color

We finished sanding and buffing the last of the 4 fenders.

We pulled the body off the frame and mounted it to the rotisserie. Time to get it ready for paint.

this is the chassis, I am going to do a little plumbing and then get the frame ready to paint.
It shouln't be long and we will be putting this roadster together for the final time.
