Just a gratuitous shot of my 1929 Model A Ford

Just showing off!

The 36 Panel is back in the shop

The Panel is back in the shop! I chopped the panel last winter and tacked everything together. Today, I started finish welding the doors. There is a serious mismatch when you chop the door frames this extreme. Today I started slicing and dicing the passenger  door frame and got everything lined up and welded. It turned out great. The photos show the mismatch on the drivers door and the finished product on the passenger door. One down and three to go. Keep watching there will be some big changes happening to this Panel very soon.

More assembly on the 33 Ford Pickup

I installed the engine and trans in the frame. Assembled the front axle assembly. Assembled the rear axle and attached the rear spring main leaf. I am lenghtening the rear toeque tube tomorrow morning. When the drive shaft comes back from the machine shop I can assemble the rear end and install it. The front spindles are in North Carolina getting bushings and king pins fitted. I should have all the juice brakes ready to install by the time they come back and the chassis is finished.

Final assembly on Lee's chassis begins

I moved the frame into the shop yesterday. I will start the re-assembly process in the morning. I found a new cab and doors that is in much better shape than the original one. It should help speed up the process when it comes to the body work. I am taking the wheels in for powder coat tomorrow and hope to have them and the tires by the time the chassis is done. stay tuned!

I finished the front and rear suspension on the 35 yesterday. I put a vintage mustang II front suspension with a new flaming river steering rack and 2" dropped spindles. It has a Ford 8.8 rear axle with disc brakes in the rear. I still need to install the lowering blocks in the rear to get the proper ride height. Check out the Before and After shots to see the difference. This project is going on the shelf for a while. Not sure when I will bring it back out but I'm sure it won't be long.

Mocked up the front end today

I didn't get quite as far as I had hoped today. I finished the front end assembly today. Everything is tacked in place, everything fits very well. I mounted the rear springs but didn't get the rear axle ready. I should get the rear axle ready and installed  early tomorrow. Should have it back in roller form by the end of the day.

As if I needed another project !

Needed some brake  parts from under this 35. I decided to install the Mustang II suspension in the front and a disc brake 8.8 in the rear so I could rob the juice brake parts I need for another project. As if I don't have enough on my plate already.

Getting some work done on Lee's 33 Ford

I had a littlee issue with the bushings in the springs. The spring had a 7/8 inch rubber bushing in it. The new teflon bushing in tthe shackles are 3/4. I foune some brass bushings that would press in and change the ID to 3/4. Now I can use the teflon bushings wich are much better. I spent the rest of the day straightening bent spokes and dings in wheel edges. I am trying to get the wheels ready to go to the powder coater. I should finish up the wheels today.
