My 35 truck project

Well, I got the top tacked together. Had to cut the A pillars to get them to line back up. As expected the roof didn't behave so good when I cut it. Because of the previous damage the roof went crazy when I cut it. I was looking at the roof when a thought came to mind. I had this scrap of roof material from a 58 Ford sedan I used on another project. With a little shaping and massaging I was able to get a real nice fit in the roof of my truck. I have never seen this one done before. I think the ribs give the roof some really cool character to this project. Next I will get the doors cut and tacked together to see what the whole package looks like. Stay Tuned!!

The top fell off the 35!!!

Well, after a weekend of fishing and Flu. I started on the project again. I braced up the cab inside so when I cut the top off everything stays where it belongs. I spent the next 4 or 5 hours with a hammer and dolly ironing out the top so I could cut it. As you can see there is a lot of cutting on all 4 corners to get that top off.  I've ground all the cuts and straightened them out. Next I will have to split the top from door to door, since I removed the 5 inches the top is much shorter than the base. I will have to add about an inch and a half to bring the two pieces back to to the same size. I Really like the look so far, should be a killer Old School Rod.

Sue and I had a little family fun with DJ and Dad

We all had some really good fishing. It's been a while since DJ has come up for Thanksgiving fishing. Weather wasn't that great but the fishing was awesome. I'm sure they will be back for again next year.
