SHOP TRUCK: Gettin ready to start the body work on the 40

We got the doors fit today and finished up a few loose ends.

We pulled the cab so I can get it primed and get ready to start the body work.
Susi and I assembled the bed and got it primed. Time to fill all the spot welds and get it smoothed out.
There is the cab in prime. Its not perfect but better than a lot of stuff we start with
Tailgate is finished as well, need to fill the spot welds and get it primed again.

I scored some more tin to play with from a friend. 1934 Ford 5 window coupe pile

This is " Pinhole " This coupe has more pinholes than all the other cars I have put together.
I guess I am a sucker for a basket case.

This is the other half of the deal, Believe it or not there is almost another coupe body here in pieces.
 34 cowls

Got some doors, looking for more so I can make a couple of sets
Here are some pieces of roof, quarters, tail panel
More quarter panel parts, I also have a floor pan that is not pictured.
I tacked the Bronco 9 inch rear axle in place and put my 7.50-16s on the back

I started mocking up the old 4 link and 34 axle as well

Thought this was a really cool shot with the A truck next to it
I finished up the f-100 front brake swap and put the front wheels on.
Now I have a good idea of how this car will look as a traditional hot rod

SHOP UPDATE: Making progress on John's Model A delivery

I rolled it outside to get a good look at the delivery. Its hard to get a profile look in the shop.
I fabricated the final piece of the rear door jamb. The threshold.

Susi and I spent the day cutting out and fabricating the hinge pockets for the rear door jamb
This is the pocket the hinge will bolt into fir the rear door

We used a rod to line the hinges up to prevent binding of the door.
Susi doing a little grinding after I finished welding the hinge pockets in

We also faricated the rear door inner frame, We will add more inner bracing as we go along.

There it is, the door is hung and swings like a champ
Our hinge work, turned out better than expected
this thing is pretty cool, probably shouldn't have sold it
