SHOP UPDATE: Finished the rear suspension this morning

I finally was able to finish the rear suspension on the 2 door sedan. Works great, now its time to think about the engine and trans.

SHOP UPDATE: Chopped the 28 2 door

Here it is before the knife. This is the last time it will exist in stock form.

All lined out and ready to cut

I am cutting it with a die grinder. It takes a lot more time but is the worth the effort. The job is much cleaner.
The roof after the first cut

Here it ready for the second cut

Her it is with the second cut completed and ready for a test fit

Test fir is good. Time to weld

My older brother Don taking it for a test drive

All tacked up and ready for final welding. Turned out great, just what we were hoping for

SHOP UPDATE: The 2 door is a roller

I finished the rear frame rails today. I ordered some parts for the coil over mounts so I didn't finish the shocks.
The body is on and bolted down so I can do the final radius of the rear wheel wells and start the sheet metal work in the back.

I like it, it has a nice stretch to it and sits nice and low. Next is to mock up engine and trans and decide how much to chop it.
It looks kinda nasty from the back.

SHOP UPDATE: lots of projects going on in the shop today.

Puttin the gears in Bill's 9 inch

We test fit the rear disc brakes today. Good thing, they sent 2 of the same calipers so I have to exchange some parts.
Susi and I drilled and plug welded the stake pockets on Jim's new bed today.

Here is the bed sides fully assembled and fit back to the framing. Tomorrow we will try to get the bed sides attached to the framing and start final install on the front bed panel. hope to have the bed in primer this weekend to start the finish work.

SHOP UPDATE: I spent a little time this evening on the 28 2 door

I fabricated a diagonal link for the rear suspension tonight. This will stop the lateral movement of the rear axle. Works great. I will be working on the rear half of the frame this weekend so we can make it a roller again.

SHOP UPDATE: Tim's 50 Mercury chassis is done

Well, finally Tim's chassis is finished. I should see the Mercury back in a couple of months to get it fired and running. Its going to be an on going project so this isn't the last you will see of it.
