SHOP UPDATE: Project For Sale 1935 chopped Ford pickup

The truck is an early 35, it has the rare doors. I have all the garnish molding for the doors and interior. The cab has been chopped 5 inches and channeled 6 inches. I welded in a piece of roof from a 58 Ford for the ribs. The engine is a very nice running 59A Flathead. The trans is a 39 fully synchronized trans. The rear axle is a 35 banjo, the torque tube and drive shaft has been shortened and balanced to move the rear axle forward. I have a flattened rear crossmember to finish the rear end install. The front suspension consists of a new 4 inch drop front axle, new super slide front spring, new stainless shock mounts, pins and shackles. The frame is an original 35 frame, it has been stretched 10.5 inches in the front, boxed and a 32 front crossmember added. The rear frame has been pie cut and z'd up for clearance to get it down low. The rear frame needs some finish welding and boxing. I have a bunch of small parts like the clutch and brake pedals, clutch linkage, new flywheel, etc

Had a little issue with some machinery

I had a little breakdown on the bead roller. The cheap metric threads went south right in the middle of a job. I had the local machinist make a couple of parts for me. I went from 3/8 to 7/16 threaded stock. I added about 60% more height to the threaded collar for strength. Once i got it back together she works twice as good as it ever did.  i love it when a plan comes together. Now I can get back to work.

FOR SALE: Chopped 1942 Ford half ton pickup project

This is a really good start for a cool hot rod. The cab and bed are 1942 which are not very common. I chopped the cab 4 inches. The cab is tacked back together, it needs to be finish welded and ground. All the miss match has been realigned and tacked, needs finish welding. the drivers side has rust in the door, cab corner and cowl. The bed is decent, not destroyed like most. The front axle is 1947 with complete hydro brakes. The rear end is also 1947, it is an open drive banjo with complete hydro brakes. It comes with six or seven 16 inch steelies. The frame is just the front half, custom 2x4 rectangular tubing. It is z'ed 4 inches and slightly pinched toward the front . It also comes with a nice 39 ish steering column and a very good steering wheel. There are 2 bobbed rear fenders and an extra passenger door for parts. The truck is mocked up for photos. It is not a roller. Also available, 1947 Ford half ton frame with open Utah title. The truck is in Utah, the frame is in Montana. $2500.00 OBO  If interested contact me at reelrodsinc@yahoo.com

SHOP UPDATE: More progress on the 41

I mounted the power brake booster and pedal assembly under the floor. I will have to modify the pedal arm slightly to get the perfect placement.
The direct fit bolt in seat, bolted right in after I fabricated all the mounts.

The seat truly is awesome with the bottom opening forward to access the dead space below. I really like it.
I really don't like the gap between the seat frame and the seat riser. I need to fix this.

Here are the filler panels I made to close the gap. I think it really makes a difference. Thanks for looking.

SHOP UPDATE: Rust repair UGH!

I have been working on the rust repair and fabrication of the new floor pan. Both A pillar cab mounts were pretty bad. After removing the rusty metal I made new pieces and welded them in. Then I got back to the floor. All floor panels are cut, I am waiting for the shifter so I can finish the trans tunnel and move on to the rusty cab corners. I also fit the new Glide seat for the first time. Its not a perfect fit but will be when I am done. Thanks for watching

SHOP UPDATE: The chop is finished

Well, the chop is finally finished. I spent the last 2 days grinding and then hammer and dolly all the imperfections in the roof. There must have been 50 dings and dents. The roof is looking really nice.  Next is the floor and firewall. Thanks for looking!
