SHOP UPDATE: Final assembly has begun

We dropped the cab and bed on the chassis today. We finally have a truck going together.

I am so happy with this build so far. I am extremely proud of my wife for the great work she has done getting this truck straight and smooth. Thanks babe, I love you!

SHOP UPDATE: Working on Bill's 32 ford roadster again.

Since Jim's 36 Ford is out of the fab shop I was able to move Bill's roadster in and get a days worth of work on it.
I spent the day working out the fit of the fenders on the front. The splash apron had about an inch gap on one side. With a lot of finessing, I was able to get the fenders pulled in and the splash apron tucked in where it belongs.

I located the fender braces and headlight bar. We are looking pretty good on the front. Next will be to address the giant gaps at the rear of the fenders.

SHOP UPDATE: Jim's 36 goes together tomorrow !!

Susi prepped  the grill and a couple of small parts yesterday for paint.
I was assembling some of the shiny stuff on the engine. This is one of my favorite parts for sure.
The frame is ready for the cab and bed to be installed.
Did some color sanding and buffing today on the fire wall before I put the cab on and have the engine in the way.
 My finished firewall.
Love this blue color the more I look at it.

Its a different color every time you look at it.

SHOP UPDATE: I painted Jim's bed tonight.

Today, Susi and I re-assembled the engine and trans. We installed the chrome oil and trans pans and installed it in the chassis.

This would be me spraying the bed this evening. We are getting ready to install the bed and cab on the chassis so I can begin the wiring and plumbing and think about getting it running.

we are very happy with the results of the bed. I think this truck should be a real jaw dropper.

SHOP UPDATE: The last few days progress in the shop

So I'm back on the chassis. I bench bled the MC and got it installed in the chassis so I could fabricate some new brake lines.
Mc installed and lines run to the front
I still have to finish the lines from the proportioning valve to the rear axle. I am waiting on the new rubber lines to finish up.
the suspension is re-assembled and ready for the engine and trans.
This is a low miles 88 T bird 5.0 V8. It had EFI but we decided to go carb on it. The heads have ports for the EGR valve in the rear. I needed to fill them. So I drilled and tapped them and installed some plugs. Problem solved.

Susi and I cleaned the engine and trans today and got the engine painted and ready for some new parts.
Ford dark blue, should look great in the truck
We put the bed on the rotisserie today and rolled it in the booth. I should be spraying it in the next few days.
I can't stop staring at the painted cab in the shop. It should be on the chassis this week.
