36 panel project

Here are a few photos of the a pillars. Once I chopped the roof the a paillars no longer lined up. I split the roof above the doors and extended them forward 1 1/4 inches. Now the posts were close but not right. I had to move the bottom of the A piller out and the top inward to get them to line up. Then I had to cut them open to be able to match the size and line up all the body lines. Lots of slice and dice but they are lining up very well. Should finish them up in the morning and start filling in the sections abovethe doors. Stay tuned.

Dick's 40 chassis is finished

Well,
It's finally finished. What a fun build. Its a 40 2 door chassis with a 350/350 engine and trans. A Heidts independent front end. A 98 Explorer disc brake rear axle. 4 wheel power disc brakes. Should be a great chassis for a fantastic project. Stay tuned, it starting to get really fun.

Dick's40 2 door

Well, the rear end is in. The power brake assembly is installed and the plumbing is 90% finished. I should get the plumbing finished and all the front suspension installed tomorrow. Hope to get the engine and trans in tomorrow. I have to paint the shocks and the driveshaft Sat. Could install them Sunday and finish it up. That would be a good thing. Time is running short, guide season is right around the corner. I will be posting some fish photos later this evening. Thanks for watching.

I started working on the " Meat Wagon" again a couple of days ago. It has been on the back burner for a while. I removed the old skool banjo rear end and replaced it with a 3.55 posi nine inch Ford. I modified a 32 Ford polished stainless triangulated four link kit, added polished and chromed Viper adjustable coilover shocks. This suspension has very smooth movement and the shock valving is adjustable so we should be able to dial in a very nice ride. Next, will be the trans swap. I am removing the 39 3 speed manual and adapting a TCI C-4 automatic to the 46 Flathead engine. I will have to remove the cab to do this so stay tuned for the fun.

project 40 2 door

I did a little finish work last week. I painted all the suspension pieces and frame for the 40. I have started assembling it for the last time. I have to sand blast and paint the shocks, rear axle, and drive shaft . Then I can assemble the entire chassis and run all the brake lines and this one is finished up. I have 2 more of these to try to finish this month and then on to the next one.
