AFTER HOURS: The latest progress on my 40 pickup

Jason was able to get all my parts sand blasted for me over the last few weeks.
I no longer needed the engine and trans in the chassis so I pulled them today.
I put the blasted cab back on the chassis so I can try to get the metal work done and get it primed. It will need to spend some time outside here and there so I want to get it primered so it is protected.

It is so much easier to roll around without the heavy engine and trans. Now I can move it between shops by myself.

So today I focused on the new firewall and floor pan.
First, I welded the 2 firewall panels together and ground them out. Then I worked over the 3 floor panels for final fitment.
Here are the floor panels in after I bead rolled everything.

Everything is partially tacked in. I ran out of time. Saturday I should finish this up and move on to some of the other issues I have to address. The cab has a bit more rust than expected.

SHOP UPDATE: This was a very special day for the roadster project

I finished up the back half of the chassis today so we could set the body on this evening.
This evening our friends came over and helped us set the body on the chassis. This is always a big day in every build.

It looks pretty cool. Just as I hoped, it is very hard to distinguish the difference between the 2 colors. I was hoping for a very subtle 2 tone. We nailed it.

I couple shots of the underside, most people think its just a waste of time but it is comforting to know you have paid attention to all parts of build like this.

SHOP UPDATE: This weekends progress on Bill's 32 roadster

There is Susi getting the flathead prepped for re-paint
 Action shot from the booth
I'm getting the front axle assembly installed in the chassis for the last time
That chrome Pete & Jakes front axle looks great with the pearl green
We installed the Aod transmission on the Flathead and put it in the chassis tonight.
We sent the heads and intake out to get polished.
I need to install the polished timing cover, it should look great next to the polished water pumps.
Susi and I assembled the nine inch and installed it today and I did a little plumbing of the brakes and fuel.

We are very proud of this one, It sure is coming together very nice. Bill should be happy!

All parts painted, sanded and buffed. Ready to be installed. Its been a hell of a week, things are picking up speed right now for sure.
