SHOP UPDATE: shop happenings

We fit and mounted the rear fenders on Jim's truck. They went together pretty good. The fenders need some work but are pretty good compared to what is out there.
We switched over to Susi's this evening and started the relocation of the engine. We are raising the engine 3 inches in the chassis for clearance and looks.

This old cruise o matic transmission is outta here

This is the  new transmission we are converting to the 312. Its a C4 3 speed. It should be much more reliable and fun to drive. We will rebuild the trans when everything comes apart for paint and final assembly

SHOP UPDATE: More progress on a few of the projects

This is Susi's finished front axle assembly, ready to be installed in the truck
We welded in some tapered bungs for the hairpin tie rod ends

Here is the front end installed. I am in process of fabricating the upper shock mounts.
We did a little test fit of the headers. I will start making the motor mounts this weekend.

I sent a load of parts out for sand blasting. This is 2 projects worth of parts.
This is the first few parts back from blasting, Time to kick it into high gear and get some things done.
This chassis will be finished before we know it. Susi is already started on the body work on the front fenders so we can get a head start on paint.

SHOP UPDATE: We have some new equipment coming to the shop next week!

My lovely wife decided we should rebuild our old blast cabinet and order an English wheel instead of buying a new blast cabinet. She is so awesome.

This morning I ordered a 4 foot electro-magnetic brake. This is a serious game changer for the shop.

SHOP UPDATE: I should never leave the house with an empty trailer !!

I went to pick up a 1932 Dodge 3 window body a friend scored for me yesterday. While walking around the yard stumbled on to a 1933 Ford model 40 4 door sedan. I just couldn't leave it there.

SHOP UPDATE: This weekends progress

I got the engine propped up in the Model A  so if the motor mounts ever show up I can get it mounted. The frame stretch gave me plenty of space for everything.

We have Jim's fenders in primer. Sue is getting a head start on the body work so we can get this one finished up this winter.

I did a little more welding on Sue's door. Trying to get this one finished up this winter as well. Gonna be a productive winter, we hope.
Here is Sue's freshly painted front suspension. We are going to assemble it one of these evenings. It should be a beauty.

SHOP UPDATE: Fronts shock conversion is finished

I made a template today and cut 4 shock brackets with the plasma cutter
After a little bending for shock clearance, they are ready to weld in

Here are the shocks installed and run through full suspension travel. Works perfectly.
