John's bed is finished. I finished fitting the front panel and final welded everything. I test fit all the wood and metal strips to make sure all the holes line up. Then I finished grinding all the spot welds to get ready for body and paint. On to the next step.

So I have been teaching my wife Sue how to do body work !!
These are the doors for Garret's 78 Dodge pickup. Needless to say they were extremely rough. My wife Sue has been wanting to help with some of the projects going on lately so I decided to teach her a little body work. She pretty much did these doors herself. She learned how to run an air file, long board and how to wet sand for paint.
Here are the doors, dash and fenders after body work .
I just came in from the booth and here is the result of her new found skill. They turned out great, smooth as glass. I hope I have a new helper in the shop!!! Thanks Baby for doing such a great job!!!!

SHOP UPDATE: Here is the latest progress from the shop
I have been working on the bed on John's 41. I finally got the frame work squared up and bolted down. I had to move a few holes and such but it fits great. I spot welded the bed side to the framework. I installed the tailgate and squared up the sides with the tailgate and welded up the corners. Tomorrow I will work on the front panel, once it is fit i can finish all the welding and start fitting the wood.

SHOP UPDATE: John's 41. Cowl vent? I think not
We are putting AC in this 41 so we decided the cowl vent was not necessary. This will also open up the middle of the dash for the stereo and AC vents
All the tin work is finally finished inside.
I test fit all the inner fenders, grill and all the small radiator brackets so i can locate the new fender support brackets to the frame.I also started to assemble and fit the bed panels. I will completely assemble and check the fit on the bed panels before welding it all together.
That big block 428 fits so nice and snug in there, doesn't it?

SHOP UPDATE: Here is a project I have been working on lately.
This is a 1978 dodge 4X4 pickup
I had my friend Jason sand blast everything but the fenders
I have everything in primer ready to start the body work.
Here i have test fit the new front fenders.
The body work is finished. The cab is in the booth ready to shoot color.
Here it is, Blue Pearl Metallic. Turned out great, the new spray gun is awesome!
SHOP UPDATE: Today's progress
Painted the Dodge cab inside and out this morning.
Mounted the E brake handle on John's 41 ford pickup, run the cables and cut to fit. Then cut the transmission tunnel for the handle. just one more piece of the puzzle.
Sanded and prepped a couple more parts for the Dodge to spray in the morning.
Last but not least, I assembled the front of the 302 for my model A and installed the finned aluminum oil pan along with a new high volume oil pump.
