SHOP UPDATE: Its getting a little crazy in the shop

 The shop is full and definitely plenty to do.

Sue prepped and I sprayed some parts for her project. It may be considered a rat rod but its all in the details.

 Sue and I finished all the tiny repairs on the cab and got it in final prime. Susi will start wet sanding tomorrow and I should paint it soon.

 There it is, body work done waiting for final wet sand before color.

 Susi got the doors sanded and waiting for me to shoot the color.

 this is the final repair on the passenger fender. Its a little hacked up so I decided to remove the damage and extend the fender to close up the small gap they have at the bed side.

 there it is finished up, closed that gap that  is there originally for unknown reason.

 here is the fender on the last fiting to make sure I like the fit before it goes off to body work.

 this is the rear shot with both reshaped rear fenders. I removed the "droop" from the outside rear corner. Now the fenders are straight and follow the lines of the bed and tailgate. IMO it looks so much better than the original design.

Priming a few more parts, getting ready to paint a ton of parts real soon.

SHOP UPDATE: Enjoying a day of good weather

We had a great day today. The temp hit the mid 40s, Susi and I hit the shop and got some much needed siding put up. All we need is a couple more days like today and we will be done.

SHOP UPDATE: pounding it out on Jim's 36 and Susi's 37

Last week I finished the modifications and repairs on the drivers rear fender. This week I got started on the passenger side which was much worse.

This is the new patch that reshapes the rear swoop and removes the droop out of the rear corner.

This is the new shape of the rear fender. It straightens and levels the back of the rear fenders. Now they have lines that work with the boxy bed and the rear frame. Now all the lines run parallel to each other. Looks much cleaner.

Here is the cab back in primer. Now we will go over it with a fine tooth comb and repair any imperfections and get it ready for color.

 Susi and I attacked her bed last night.

 This is the inner framing we built to mount the bed and to attach the flooring to it.

 Susi is giving it the once over before installing it today.

 We added some frame welting to keep the squeaks and rattles to a minimum.

 We installed the bitchin 39 Ford taillights this morning

 Susi engineered the front bed mounts last night. This was her idea using some existing bolts in the frame. It is a fine idea and worked perfectly.

 We mounted the bed, installed the driveshaft this afternoon.

 We also made the patterns for the door glass and rear window and prepped the windshield frame for glass. We will dropping  everything off tomorrow to have the glass cut and tempered.

 I spent the evening and wired the rear of the truck. I will get the E brake cables cut and fit and the back of the truck is finished.

We installed the lisence plate bracket we fabricated and installed her 1937 Montana plate. This rod is registered and ready to hit the road

SHOP UPDATE: Susi's 37 is getting a little closer

 So, we finished painting rotors and calipers and plumbing the brakes and got them bled. One system is finished.

 I started the wiring the other night. The gauges are wired and now its time to start wiring the engine and lights.

We also did a bunch of work on the bed last night straightening out some of the damage and installed a different tailgate. This gate is a touch straighter than the previous. I will be working on the bed floor and mounting in the next few evenings. Time to get rockin on this one and get it on the road.

SHOP UPDATE: More metal work

 I finally finished the drivers rear fender, turned out good. I like the look. Now on to the passenger side so we can get them in primer.

 Susi is hard at it on the body work. The cab should be in primer in a day or two.
