AFTER HOURS Day #6 Cab is back on

 I welded in an upper X member support, I will fabricate a bolt in lower support to work with the trans mount.

 Here is everything stuffed in the frame. Kinda tight but will work for sure

 I cut the firewall and some of the front floor out for engine clearence.

 Looks pretty good so far. This one is coming together quick, its much easier when you have done all of it plenty of times before.

She moved in the new shop so I can get to a few things I need to underneath.

AFTER HOURS: Night #5 Front suspension is finished

 It was a short night but I accomplished what I set out to get finished. The front suspension is finished. Time to map out front brake lines and move on.

The new mini starter came in yesterday and fits like a glove.

SHOP UPDATE: Starting to paint some parts on Bill's roadster

 Lots going on in the shop right now.

 Getting the parts straightened out on Bill's roadster, time to paint some parts

 We had to fix a few imperfections on the new deck lid but nothing major.

Here is the first look at the body color, the fenders and frame are a couple shades darker. It will be hard to tell the difference.

AFTER HOURS: Night #4 shop truck. Out with the old, in with the new.

 So, when I first started this project a couple of years ago. I was going to build on a budget. I set the front suspension up with original Mustang 2 front suspension. Tonight I removed everything and replaced it with modern tubular A arms.

 I had to make a few spacers to adapt the new A arms to the cross-member.

 The new A arms are 5/8" narrower than stock so it will pull the tires in a little for tire clearance. I want to keep it in the dirt so this will help when I turn . I should get the new steering rack in and move on to the next step.

AFTER HOURS: Night #3 shop truck

 Sue and I got the transmission mounted. I still need to do a little trimming of the mount and round a few corners.

 I finished the motor mounts and stripped some of the junk off the engine.

 We also installed the headers and the power brake unit and pedal assembly.

 Next was to install the radiator and make sure we have enough spacr for the electric fan.

The chassis is coming together in record time.

SHOP UPDATE: Bill's roadster

 We put the engine and trans back in the roadster the other day so I can start the metal work for the floor.

 Susi started guide coating some parts so she can start the body work.

 Even though these parts are new, they all have some issues that will require some body work.

 Bill and I decided to do something a little different. I modified a set of 34 Ford tail light stands to fit the roadster fenders. I haven't seen this before on a 32.

I got the 2" chopped windshield frame and stanchions installed the other day as well. Starting to look like a hot rod.

AFTER HOURS Night #2 Shop truck

 I still have a bunch of grinding and cutting to remove the remnants of old but that will come after we finish fabrication of the mounts.

I did notch the original radiator mounts and re-install them. I will ad some supports to the back side later. I just need to locate the radiator for engine placement. Looking forward to tomorrow evening
