SHOP UPDATE: I got screwed by Larry Fish from the upper Big Hole !!

Here is a project that was dumped in my lap. Larry Fish from the upper Big Hole valley came to the shop. He wants a 2 door sedan body to build a rat rod. I do some checking around find this car in South Dakota. Send Larry a dozen photos. He wants me to attach the 2 pieces and chop it. I give him the price. He says " I gotta have it" My buddy Tim the transporter is in SD says he will pay and bring it home. Sounds great. I pay Tim take Delivery and a few days later Larry the ASSHOLE decides he is going to pass! Some people have no class. So needless to say I now own a 28 2 door sedan. I am going to follow through with the original idea and see where it goes. If anyone is interested in this project it is available. I have some more parts coming in the next week and  Sue and I will start surgery soon. THANKS LARRY YOU JACKASS!!!

SHOP UPDATE: Had a new delivery a couple of weeks ago.

I have been so busy trying to finish John's 41 Ford I forgot to post the newest arrival. This is Bill's new Brookeville 32 Ford roadster body. This is one of the projects I will be starting this winter. I will post the plans for this one soon. What a beauty!

SHOP UPDATE: Almost finished

SHOP UPDATE: If it isn't one thing its another!

So, we installed the hood. We spent a ton of time getting it adjusted and fit. Then I installed chrome waterfall and the latch and tried to close it. To our surprise, not even close to latching. After a bunch of phone calls we learned that 1941 has a special latch and upper grill support. These parts are 1941 specific. Unfortunately the hood was never on the truck so we had no idea. I started digging through my boneyard of parts and came up with a lower latch support that was very unique. Turns out it is for a 1941 pickup. Problem is, it is mutilated and missing some parts. I used one of my old grills as a jij and started repairing the damaged latch area and made a support rod. Once it was tacked together we installed it and tried closing the hood. with quit a bit of tweeking and adjusting we were able to latch the hood. Sue and I removed it so it could be sand blasted and painted and re installed. Works very good. we are working on a few more things this week and the truck will be finished and ready to go home with John. Here are some photos of the process of repairing the latch.

SHOP UPDATE: More progress

 Sue finished installing the bed filler panels while I was on the river guiding. they look awesome.

Gettin closer on the 41. I have been guiding everyday so its been slow. Getting ready to make the final push and get it finished this week.

SHOP UPDATE: Getting really close on the 41

 Here is John's side exhaust. I had to tuck them up under the running board for clearence and you won't burn your leg.

 Turns out they look good and sound good as well.

 I installed the headlight buckets and chrome trim rings. The front really looks awesome.

 All the tempered/smoked glass is installed and looks great.

Thought I would have a little fun while the truck was out and shoot the shop truck next to the 41. I think my 40 was jealous

While the 41 was out of the shop getting the pipes connected, I was able to get Joes's 37 windshield frame touched up with the airbrush. I will install it one of these nights so Joe can get a little seat time.
