SHOP UPDATE: JOE'S 37 GOES IN FOR POWDER COAT
I finished all the modifications to the frame and fabricated the new trans crossmember.
I built some mounts and mounted the fuel tank.
I finished all the welding, added the gussets for strength and ground everything nice and clean.
The frame and all other parts are loaded and will head in for powder coat in the morning. It won't be long and it is final assembly time.

JOE'S MEAT WAGON IS BACK IN THE SHOP !
Here is the old brake system
This is the new chrome plated power brake system
I had to disassemble the truck for the next phase
Here is the old manual 3 speed transmission
And the new full race TCI c-4 automatic
This is a custom made adapter to mate the C-4 to the vintage flathead engine. I still need to fabricate the transmission mount. I measured and ordered the drive shaft. I am hoping to have all the fabrication finished and send all parts out for powder coat by the end of the month. Final assembly is just around the corner.
THE CHOPPED 37 IS ONE STEP CLOSER!
The engine is in the 37 Ford. It is a Y block V8 with a tri-power. I had to move it out for a while so I can work on some customer projects. I should be moving it in on the weekends so I can keep moving forward.

I SPENT A COUPLE OF DAYS ON THE CHOPPED 37 PICKUP
Here is the flat pattern of the crossmember.
I made a little cut part way through the material so I could bend it. Then I folded up the metal and welded the seems.
I fabricated the motor mounts out of several pieces of 3/16 steel.
I welded and ground them and here is the finished product.
I needed to get this engine out of my way in the shop. I decided the best way to remove it was to install it in the Chopped 37 Ford. I did a little fabricating and made my transmission cross member and motor mounts and bolted that bad boy in. It is a very good fit. I will get the body back on tomorrow and get it out of the shop. I have a bunch of work that needs to be done before the end of the month and I need the space. Stay tuned!

CLOSED THE 2013 FISHING SEASON WITH DJ AND DAD
DJ, Dad and I had a really fun day fishing the last day on the beav. It was a little windy but fishing was great. Glad to spend the time with family.
SHOP UPDATE
I made some very small progress on the model A last week. I did a little finish work on the frame and got it sprayed with primer. I ordered the medium gloss black paint. I should get this frame and rear axle sprayed next week.
Here is the frame for Jim's 36 Ford pickup. I sprayed it in semi gloss ceramic chassis black. I will be dropping off all the brackets and mounts at the powder coat shop. Time to start assembling some of these hot rods for the last time.
