STILL CUTTIN AND WELDING!

I finished the A and B pillars and the upper door jam.

I chopped the upper portion of the door making sure to keep the door gaps nice and even. I had to repair quite a bit of mis-match between the upper and lower door posts.

The mis-match in the back of the cab is the most difficult to repair. I have to cut the back of the cab  and move it back to get the correct alignment in the back window area. I will fabricate the splice and re connect the roof. The truck is really starting to look sweet. I hope to get the passenger side caught up tomorrow.

Susi and I caught a couple of nice Steelhead yesterday

Susi and I went steelhead fishing yesterday in Idaho. We wanted to swing some flies with our Spey rods.  We drove over in some questionable weather. We decided we were going to fish 3 runs and get out before the weather came in. That is exactly what we did and we each caught a nice fish. It was a successful trip.

HACK, CHOP, WELD AND GRIND !

The chop is coming together nicely. I split the roof and started fitting the pieces. I cut and installed the drivers door and aligned all the gaps. Now I can finish the splice over the door and move to the other side. This project is right on schedule.

THE CHOPPING HAS BEGUN!

I got a real good start today. The donor roof has been removed from the other cab. I built the structure to align and hold the roof pieces for reassembly and removed the old roof. I also fabricated the supports for all 4 corners. These will help align the corners when I go back together and give it more strength at the weld. I should get the other roof cut and start the reassembly in the morning. I hope to get all 4 pieces tacked in place and start filling in the gaps. Stay tuned

Back in the shop for a 3 inch chop !

You might remember Frank's 55 Ford F100. It came through the shop last summer for a MII independent front suspension install. Well its back to get the top lowered. I will start the 3 inch chop this morning. Here are a few before shots. It should be well on its way by this weekend.

The Hot Rod season has officially begun!!

I had a little project I needed to finish before I started the next Hot Rod in the shop. I was pretty tired of tracking in the mud by the end of last winter so I built a deck for the wood pile. Should be a lot cleaner packing in wood than last year. Susi sure likes chopping wood, win win for me.

Just a few shots of some post guide season fishing.

Here are just a few shots of some after guide season fishing with Susi. We have been having a great time. We should be doing some Steelhead fishing every weekend until the ice comes.
